Nancy Sinatra Lobbying Congress Today

Wednesday, June 11, 2008

Very interesting article in US News and World Report today...Nancy Sinatra is lobbying congress today fighting for change of an outdated law that does not include performers in the payout of royalties by radio stations. Here's an excerpt:

What Drives You?

One definition of career is "a life-work chosen by a person to use personal talent, provide some service or goods, earn money, and contribute to society." Whether you're a hobbyist or working or full-time musician, most of us fit that description. Using personal talent and contributing to society are just as motivating as making money doing what you love. Not all of us are in it for the money, but some of are...which is not a bad thing. What is it that drives you? Is it the thrill of performing live for others? Is it making money doing what you do best? Whatever it may be, we're curious about what drives you to succeed in the music business? Post your comments here.
